Club Statement | 29 October 2026

Following our update to supporters on 21 October, we want to let you know where things stand ahead of the 2027 season.
Earlier this month, Chairman Terry Bramall, Club Doncaster Chief Executive Gavin Baldwin and Doncaster Rugby League Chief Executive Carl Hall met the Rugby Football League (RFL) to discuss 2027. In that meeting, we made clear that we need to understand the RFL’s plans for next season so we can move forward with confidence and build on this year’s progress. We are still waiting for that confirmation.
Our ambition has not changed. We want to take Doncaster Rugby League to Super League, and to do it the right way. Until the RFL confirms how the 2027 competition will be structured and what opportunities will be open to us, we will not commit to decisions that depend on it.
That includes season memberships. We would normally launch in November, and while our plans are ready, we will hold the launch until the structure is confirmed. Over 75 years our fans have given this club remarkable backing, and we will not ask you to commit to a package we cannot yet fully describe.
Work is continuing behind the scenes. Head Coach Richard Horne and Carl Hall are already preparing next season’s squad with Super League in our sights, though its final shape will depend on the league structure.
We will keep pressing the RFL for a decision and will update you as soon as we have news. Thank you for your patience and your continued support.
